Malaysian Spring Single Mothers’ Society
The Malaysian Spring Single Mothers’ Society was founded on the 21st day of April 2002. Presently it has more than 600 single mothers who have joined as members. Included among these single mothers are some of whom who are widowed, divorced, separated from their husbands and those who are facing marital problems.
Single mothers face numerous problems in their daily lives. Therefore it is the mission of the Malaysian Spring Single Mothers’ Society to provide assistance wherever possible to single mothers. Included in our plans are the following:
1) Monthly distribution of food to hardcore poor single mothers
We hope to be able to distribute food and basic necessities to hardcore poor single
mothers in the middle of every month (which include rice, cooking oil, biscuits, noodles,
canned food, milk, Milo, toilet paper etc). We plan to distribute 100 sets to 100 hardcore
poor single mothers every month. Hopefully, the plan will reduce the single mother’s
pressure in their livelihood.
2) Provide financial support to children of hardcore poor single mothers
Education to the children is of utmost importance especially to break the circle of poverty
amongst the hardcore poor single mothers. We hope to provide financial support to
families of single mothers who face extreme financial hardship. Our humble request to
our willing sponsors is to subsidize at least RM50.00 per month for each deserving child,
which subsidy shall go towards the child’s tuition fees, school fees and expenses etc.
3) Manage an Assistance Fund for Poor Single Mothers and their families
We plan to offer assistance to the poor single mothers whenever such assistance is greatly in need. Therefore, we manage an Assistance Fund (about RM200-RM300 each time) to help single mothers who face destitution, who have handicapped children to take care of or who are down with diseases, either in themselves or in any one of their family members. We sincerely hope that such fund may lead them out of whatever difficulties that they may be facing.
4) Monthly visits to poor single mothers’ families
We are working towards organizing monthly visits to poor single mothers’ families to
better understand their hardship and to foster closer relationship with them. At the same
time, we also distribute foodstuff to them and show them our support and care.
5) Organising more seminars and other activities
Even though we do organize seminars, talks and other activities at the moment, we
nevertheless hope that more activities which are meaningful and which promote both
mental and physical well-being can be organized more systematically in the future.
Such activities include seminars on parenting, one-day tours, picnics etc. We hope that
through such activities, the relationship between single mothers and their children will be
improved.

面对社会仍存在的一些歧视及缺乏理解.鉴于希望能让遭遇相同的妇女互相支持及鼓
励,扩大支援网络,发挥团体力量一起学习解决问题,纾解生活压力及建立独立面对单亲
生活的能力,马来西亚第一个以华裔单亲妇女为主的全国性组织,从而诞生了.
马来西亚春晖单亲妈妈协会正式成立于2002年4月21日,并于2003年3月31日获得正
式注册.马来西亚春晖单亲妈妈协会是一组全权由单亲妈妈, 配合义工所组成的互助成
长团体.
• 春晖单亲妈妈协会服务对象
這裡所謂的單親媽媽是指擁有一個或一個以上孩子的媽媽，並且基於以下的原因失
去丈夫：
丧偶单亲
離婚，或者解除婚約
经历家庭暴力及身心灵受到创伤
未婚单亲
未經合法的方式被丈夫抛棄或与丈夫離異
面对婚姻问题的女性
• 春晖单亲妈妈协会的宗旨
给予单亲母亲及婚姻面对挫折的女性各方面的支持与关怀，使她們對生活重建信心。
透過有益身心的活動來促進單親媽媽以及孩子間的和諧關係。
建立单亲家庭之间的相互支持系统。
在社團註冊官以及有關當局的書面許可之下，向公衆人士籌款。
